Human Rights Café: Violations of Indigenous Rights in Nicaragua

Peace Brigades International & Amnesty International Student Group Utrecht invite you to the Human Rights Café: ‘Violations of Indigenous Rights in the Nicaraguan Caribbean Coast’ at The Louis Hartlooper Complex.

This Human Rights Café features human rights defender Lottie Cunningham from Nicaragua. Lottie, the current guest of the Shelter City project in Utrecht, will present the story of her struggle for human rights and land rights of indigenous people of Nicaragua’s Caribbean Coast. Through her implementation of strategic litigation, Lottie has worked to protect the collective human rights of indigenous peoples. Despite being targeted with death threats, defamation and harassment, she did not allow this to affect her determination to defend the rights of indigenous people and preservation of the environment.

Limited seating for approximately 40 people is available. You can sign up here.
