On December 9th, PBI is hosting an upcoming free training, offering a wide range of engaging topics including human rights, non-violence, accompaniment, the work of human rights defenders, and consensus-based decision-making processes.
In addition to these subjects, you’ll have the opportunity to delve into what it means to be a PBI volunteer in one of our project countries: Colombia, Guatemala, Honduras, Indonesia, Kenya, Mexico, Nepal, and Nicaragua (from Costa Rica). One of our former PBI field volunteers will guide you through the founding and mission of Peace Brigades International (PBI) and a human rights defender from Bolivia will tell her first hand experiences.
With over 40 years of successful accompaniment of human rights defenders, PBI has a unique approach in the human rights sector. Through informal and interactive group exercises, you will gain a deep understanding of our methods and learn from the fieldwork experiences of our trainers. If you’re interested in becoming a field volunteer yourself, this is the perfect opportunity to ask any questions!
