The Tocoa Court has notified that there will be a hearing to review the measures of the eight water defenders who are in preventive detention for more than 15 months. This hearing will take place on December 18th , 9:00 AM (Honduran time).
The defenders of the community of Guapinol in Honduras, are water defenders that have been facing a process of criminalization in retaliation for their work in defense of human rights and natural resources. The defenders of the Guapinol river are finalists of the Sakharov prize award 2020.
